Client Overview:

Our client is an Italian lighting manufacturer with a fast growing path in the US market. To assist in their daily operations, we have been hired to assist them in the recruitment of a (Senior) Financial Analyst to support the finance department.

Mission: 

The (Senior) Financial Analyst is responsible for providing financial, analytical and operational support to Finance, Sales and Corporate Management. The position focuses on analysis of sales, margin, expense analysis, and operational support to assist the Management team.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Provide actual sales results in comparison to forecast/history to Management

·       Assist in the preparation of sales budgets and forecasts.

·       Verify rebates, markdowns, and promotional assistance.

·       Account profitability analysis which includes all sales and product contribution (i.e. co-op salaries, advertising, markdowns discounts etc.).

·       Quantify sales strategic initiatives.

·       Purchase order expense Reconciliation to budget.

·       Participates to monthly closing process in deep collaboration with accounting team;

·       Support for business control activities to HQ controlling department (monthly closing, expenses control, timely provisions, external reporting, KPI control…);

·       Provide high-quality, timely support and analysis to enable good business decisions;

·       Development of internal control policies and procedures

·       Support to the Italian HQ and carry on corporate projects (ex. pricing, ERP development, planning, etc.).

·       Costs and capex controlling (follow up on approved investments, both actual spending vs approved amount);

·       Ensures consistency of data daily, mid-month and monthly

·       Timely response to Adhoc requests.

·       Strong support for all inventory accounting functions, like: developing inventory analysis reports and analyzing variances.

·       Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory.

·       Verifying accurate standard vs actual costs.

·       Monitoring inventory transactions.

·       Reconciling inventory accounts to the general ledger.

·       Preparing monthly journal entries as needed.

·       Special projects as required.


Qualifications and Skills:

·       Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent. Professional certification (CPA/CMA)

·       Knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS GAAP and main items of a Financial Statement.

·       In-depth understanding of spreadsheet and data base applications (e.g. Excel, Access, etc.).

·       Business management, finance, or accounting experience 2 – 5 years.

·       Knowledge / Experience in a consumer product or retail company.

·       SAP / Business Objects experience a plus.

·       Accounting experience a plus.
